Carol Joy (Busacker) Farley

LINCOLN, Neb. — Carol Joy (Busacker) Farley, aged 80, died peacefully at her home surrounded by her beloved family on Aug. 2, 2017, after a valiant battle with cancer.

Carol was born on March 4, 1937, in Sidney, Neb., to Henry Busacker and Golda (Miner) Busacker. Carol's formative years were spent growing up in Scottsbluff, Neb. Carol was one of seven children and was salutatorian of the class of 1956. Continuing her education, she attended Chadron State College, where she met her husband, Don Farley. They were married in 1958 and moved to Stuart, Neb., to begin their teaching careers.

Carol and Don spent the majority of their life together in Indianola, Neb., sharing many happy memories.

Carol's priority in life was her family. Gardening, Husker football, bridge, camping, and reading were some of her most favorite pastimes.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jennifer; her parents; three sisters, Wilma, Evie and Alta; one brother, Warren; and dear pet labrador, "Babe."

Carol is survived by her husband of 59 years, Don Farley; daughters, Shannon (Mike) Denny and Susan (Don) Partridge; son, Ross (Jennifer) Farley; 12 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; brother, Delbert Busacker; sister, Ileen Magers; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be Sunday, Aug. 12, 2017, at 11 a.m at Havelock United Methodist Church in Lincoln, Neb. Those attending the celebration are encouraged to wear scarlet and cream in support of her favorite teams she followed with pride and love. GO BIG RED!!
