Employees and officers from McCook National Bank unload 4,300 pounds of non-perishable food and 16 boxes of frozen meats at the McCook Pantry Monday. Pantry volunteers -- most often John Sines, George Patterson, Dick Neal, Bob Hardy and Bill Marshall -- have loaded food up at the Mid-Nebraska Food Bank in Kearney once a month for 12 years. For about the past eight years, MNB personnel has unloaded the food in McCook. "We call MNB on our way back, usually from about Indianola," Pantry volunteer Bob Hardy said, "and they meet us at the Pantry. It's so nice to have them unload for us. " This month, the MNB crew included Jason Grigg, Matt Tiller, Brian Strauch, Jim Hamill, Don Grassia, Tim Wiebe, Matt Nielsen and Craig Merrihew. Pantry volunteers John Sines and Jean Hardy packed a freezer with frozen meals and salmon filets on Monday.
