McCOOK, Neb -- Registration for McCook High School students will start Monday, Aug. 8 and run through Thursday, Aug. 11.

The registration isn't mandatory, but is encouraged for parents and students as a way to streamline all the paperwork necessary before school starts Aug. 17, said McCook High School principal, Jeff Gross.

"We'd like to get everything taken care of before school starts, as a way to avoid funneling (the paperwork) to parents the first days of school, " Gross said.

Students will get their class schedules and make changes on the spot if needed, Gross said.

In addition, addresses and phones numbers will be verified, the Infinite Campus log-in number will be distributed, free and reduced lunch applications can be filed, and iPads will be dispersed.

For incoming freshmen, parents and students will watch a three-minute video before i-Pads are given to students.

Parents are asked to attend with their students.

Registration for seniors is Monday, Aug. 8; juniors, Tuesday, Aug. 9; sophomores, Wednesday, Aug. 10 and freshmen, Thursday, Aug. 11. Times for all four days will be from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 4 to 7 p.m.
