Meteorologists warned of heavy rain, chunky hail and high winds in summer storm clouds sitting and spinning over Furnas County late Monday afternoon and early evening, with views of towering clouds all the way from the city pool in Culbertson and from the center of McCook. Although there have been reports of up to 5 inches of rain, the sheriff's office in Beaver City had not received any reports of severe wind or hail damage. Showers and cooler temperatures are forecasted to return Friday and Saturday, clearing briefly Sunday, with thunderstorms forecasted to return Monday.
