Smilin' for the judges

Danielle Forster of Smithfield must have whispered to Duke, "Smile for the judges," during the horsemanship division of the Miss Southwest Nebraska Rodeo Queen and Junior Queen competition in McCook Saturday morning. Danielle, Jaelyn Himmelberg of Lawrence and Lacey Langer of Superior are junior queen contestants. Queen contestants are Chyanne Friehe of Culbertson and Halee Kohmetscher of Lawrence. The new 2016 royalty will be crowned at 7:45 p.m., Saturday, just before the Red Willow County Fair rodeo starting at 8 p.m.
