McCOOK, Neb. -- Nelda Ruth Gull, age 86, departed this life Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at her home in McCook with her family by her side.

Nelda was born Aug. 1, 1929, on the family farm south of Indianola, Neb., to John Rollie and Ruth Florence (Nickerson) Smith. She attended school in Indianola, graduating with the class of 1946.

On Sept. 26, 1946, Nelda married Jack Duane Gull at the First Christian Church in McCook. The couple was blessed with five children.

Nelda enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a caregiver for many people in her family throughout the years.

Nelda was a member of the B.L.F. & E. Auxiliary as well as the First Christian Church in McCook. She worked as a sales clerk at J.C. Penney and A & M Drug Store for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack Duane Gull; infant twin sons, Larry Dean and Gary Duane Gull; infant twin sisters; sister, Lois E. (Smith) Cafferty; brother, Richard L. Smith.

Survivors include her sons, John (Linda) Gull and Randy Gull, all of McCook; daughter, Karron (Steven) Curtis of Floral City, Fla.; sisters-in-law, Genevieve (Gull) Hulse of Shalimar, Fla., and Bettie Gull of McCook; seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be on Friday, April 29, 2016, at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home in McCook from 1 to 8 p.m.

Funeral services will be on Saturday, April 30, 2016, beginning at 2 p.m., also at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home, with Pastor Clark Bates officiating.

Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, McCook.
