'Junktoberfest: A Vintage and Artisan Fair' slated for Oct. 24-25
McCOOK, Neb. -- Indianola's own antique/junktique "dealer in rust and remnants" Courtney Pollmann is excited about her third annual "Junktoberfest: A Vintage and Artisan Fair" scheduled Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 24 and 25 in four buildings on the Red Willow County fairgrounds in McCook, Nebraska.
At last count, Courtney has 70 arts and artisan vendors who plan to sell their wares, and three food booths: Cactus Jack's Chuck Wagon, a kettle corn booth and a coffees and smoothies booth.
"I'm excited about my third Junktoberfest," Courtney said. "There are returning vendors in bigger spaces and exciting new vendors. It will be a lot of fun."
Vendors will include antique and junktique dealers of rust; stained glass and cut glass; original and renovate-it-yourself home decor and furniture; homemade soaps and oils; wild grass wreaths; jewelry; rope work, taxidermy and western decor; "man-tiques" and primitive items; organic bath and body products; handcrafted wood items, signs and yard decor; unique vintage goodies, mid century and shabby chic; and "barn goods," rusty metals and wash bins.
"This will be our biggest show ever," Courtney said.
Weekend admission to Junktoberfest will be $2; children 12 and under are free of charge. Hours will be Saturday, from 9 a.m until 6 p.m., and Sunday, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.
