Veanna Orr Carman

OBERLIN, Kan. -- Veanna Orr Carman, 82, died Monday (Sept. 14, 2015), at Cedar Living Center in Oberlin.

She was born March 23, 1933, in Decatur County, Kansas, to Leo F. and Aleen P. (Vernon) VanVleet Sr. She graduated from Decatur Community High School in 1951. She married Loyde Ray Orr March 13, 1951. After his death, she married Roger Orr on Feb. 1, 1953. After his death, she married Max Carman on March 20, 2005.

She was a bookkeeper for Claire's Clothing and Sears and a school bus driver for USA 294.

She was a member of United Church of Oberlin.

She was preceded in death by parents, Leo and Aleen VanVleet; and husbands, Loyde Ray Orr, Roger Orr and Max Carman.

Survivors include children, Wayne (Sandy) Orr of El Dorado, Patti (Frank) Rutherford of Cedaredge, Colorado, and Susan Orr of Colby; brothers, Leo (Josie) VanVleet Jr. of Phoenix, Arizona and Gene (Lily) VanVleet of San Diego, California; three grandchilden and four great-grandchilden.

Services are Saturday, Sept. 19, 2015, 10:30 a.m. at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin with the Rev. Judy Stricker officiating. Interment is at Kanona Cemetery in rural Decatur County.

Visitation is Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and after 8 a.m. on Saturday. Online condolences may be left at Saturday www.paulsfh.com.

Memorials may be given to Golden Age Center and Wheat Ridge Terrace.
