FCB Juniors cancel Tuesday game, Area 6 Tournament to start Friday

The McCook First Central Bank Juniors Legion baseball team is getting prepared for Area 6 Tournament competition.

The double-elimination Area 6 Juniors Tournament is set to start Friday, July 10, at Holdrege, running through Tuesday, July 14.

McCook was scheduled to hold a tune-up contest for the Area 6 competition Tuesday night against Hershland (Hershey-Sutherland combined team). But that game has been cancelled and won't be rescheduled.

BRACKETS for the Area 6 Juniors Tournament had not been announced as of Tuesday morning. McCook was expected to draw a top seed in the six-team field that includes host Holdrege, Broken Bow, Cozad, Gothenburg and Minden.

The Area 6 Juniors Tournament champion will qualify for the Class B Juniors Legion State Tournament at Bennington July 18-22.

The McCook National Bank Seniors Legion team has a double-header scheduled Friday, July 10, at North Platte.

First pitch for the opening game is set for 5:30 p.m. at North Platte.
