'Grandpa started it'

Grandpa Travis Fisher of Oxford, Nebraska, teased a smile and a giggle from his 5-year-old granddaughter Baylee Kipp of Bertrand, Nebraska, as she rode round-and-round on the merry-go-round during the street carnival of the 59th annual "Oxford Turkey Days" Friday evening. "Grandpa started it," Fisher laughed when Baylee struck her tongue out at him; he started it all by sticking his tongue out at her, he admitted, with a chuckle. The street carnival lured Turkey Day celebrators downtown, after the parade down main street. On Saturday, people enjoyed a softball tournament, a fun run, sand volleyball, a fishing contest and barbecue blowout. On Sunday, there was worship in the park, an open shoot at the gun club and a golf tournament at the country club.
