GREELEY, Colo. -- Carol Ann Horsford, 75, of Greeley passed away Thursday (May 28, 2015) at Kenton Manor in Greeley.

Carol was born Feb. 7, 1940, to William and Ella Hongsermeier in Grand Island, Nebraska.

She graduated from Grand Island Senior High School in 1958. She attended Midland Lutheran College.

On June 4, 1960, she married James "Jim" Horsford of Fremont, Nebraska. They shared a marriage for 55 years. Together they raised three sons; Mark Horsford, Jason (Marlo) Horsford, Littleton, Colorado, and Andrew Horsford, Denver, Colorado. They have three grandchildren, Jack and Allie Horsford and Felix Horsford.

Carol was a stay at home mother until her children were in junior high. She then became a secretary for several business with the last being Northeastern Junior College in Sterling, Colorado, for 11 years. She and Jim retired in 1999 and moved to Scottsbluff, Nebraska. In August 2012 they moved to Greeley.

Carol was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Greeley, P.E.O. Chapter I in Greeley and a member of a special group of ladies knows as the "Coffeemates" in Scottsbluff.

Carol is survived by her husband Jim; her three sons; and her grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Lois Redman; brother Dale Hongsermeier; sisters-in-law Carole Hongsermeier, and Phyllis Hongsermeier, all of Grand Island, Nebraska.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers Roger and Earle.

Per Carol's request, cremation will be completed. A memorial service will be held at Our Savior's Lutheran Church on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at 2 p.m. Inurnment will be at a later date.
