Storm Spotter class set March 12

GOODLAND, Kan. -- The National Weather Service in Goodland, Kansas, and Red Willow County, Nebraska, Emergency Management plan a storm spotter class in McCook, Nebraska, Thursday, March 12, at 6:30 p.m. (CT) at Heritage Senior Center, 1400 W. Fifth.

The class is free of charge and open to anyone with an interest in High Plains weather.

This program is conducted only once a year by NWS meteorologists and instructors will discuss Wireless Emergency Alerts, Impact-Based Warnings, thunderstorm organization and evolution, associated clouds and their meaning, thunderstorm hazards, safety, and what and how to report.
