Clary Village to planning commission

Monday, February 9, 2015

McCOOK, Neb. -- A local housing development intent on constructing eight duplex units north of the Red Willow County Fairgrounds is making progress. The McCook Planning Commission will coordinate a pair of public hearings this evening to consider a preliminary planned development district and amended redevelopment plan for the project, known as Clary Village.

The Clary Village duplexes will consist of a dozen two-bedroom and four three-bedroom units, constructed on the city block north of Q Street and between West 8th Street and West 81⁄2 Street. The development is located across the street and to the west of the former McCook Public Schools bus barn.

The preliminary planned development district includes sanitary sewer, water, sidewalk and drainage improvements related to the project. The amended redevelopment plan corrects a misstated $120,000 in Tax Increment Financing available to the project, reducing the amount down the $73,500.

Commissioners will consider approval for resolutions related to each item following the respective public hearings.

Also during Monday's regularly scheduled meeting, 5:15 p.m. at the Municipal Center, the Planning Commission will select new officers for the term from April 2015 through March 2016.

  • The wheels of progress turn slowly but thanks to the MEDC and the city the wheels are turning. Good job!
