DANBURY, Neb. -- Dennis R. Walters, age 59, passed away Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014, at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.

Dennis was born in McCook on Nov. 9, 1955, to Veryl and Eleanor (Kircher) Walters. He graduated from Decatur Community High School in 1973.

Dennis married Theresa Conroy on April 16, 1977, in McCook. To this union one son was born. Theresa passed away Feb. 22, 2007.

He married Charlotte Smith in Las Vegas on Aug. 20, 2008.

He enjoyed watching sports, especially NASCAR, playing pool, farming, riding his motorcycle and spending time with his grandson and friends and family.

Survivors include his wife, Charlotte of Danbury; son, Ryan (Hannah) Walters of North Platte; brother, Rodney (Lee Tillman) Walters; sister, Michele (Billy) Witt of McCook; grandchildren, Dustin Rhodig Jr and Quincey Walters.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Theresa Walters; and step-son, Dustin Rhodig, Sr.

Visitation will be Friday, Jan. 2, 2015, from 4 to 8 p.m. with the family greeting friends from 5 to 7 p.m., at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be Saturday, 10:30 a.m., Jan. 3, 2015, at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Griger officiating. Inurnment will be in the Danbury-Marion Cemetery at a later date.
