Students and other well-wishers look on as the new name of the Peter & Dolores Graff Events Center is unveiled at a ceremony Wednesday evening. Looking on, right, were namesake Dolores Graff, and Peter's son, Mark, top right, who said he hopes "everyone who reads the name on the building realizes how much we value McCook Community College and all it's done" for the community. Mid-Plains Community College President Ryan Purdy said "Being a humble couple, Peter and Dolores consistently chose to remain in the background with no intention of personal gain or publicity," Purdy said. "Their financial giving through McCook National Bank, the bank's subsidiaries and family contributions they have ensured that Southwest Nebraska will continue to grow and prosper by providing funding and support of new facilities through local educational opportunities at McCook Community College. The formal re-naming of this building today is just a token of our gratefulness and appreciation of all the Graff family has done for us," he said.

  • Kudos to the college for recognizing the Graff family and their differing business structures and even a bigger shout-out to the Graff family for their support not only of the college but for all they have done for SW Nebraska!
