Bad checks bring probation, restitution

McCOOK, Neb. -- A McCook woman was convicted Thursday on a Class III felony offense for issuing bad checks to several local retailers. The felon, 21-year-old Hollie M. Quitt of 1112 Missouri Avenue, was subsequently sentenced to 30 months probation and ordered to pay $1,907 in restitution.
Quitt issued the near $2,000 in bad checks during a 60 day time period between December 2011 and February 2012.
Quitt was ordered to pay $556 in restitution to Alco; $534 to VK Electronics; $492 to Orscheln Farm & Home; $100 to Frenchman Valley; $65 to Schamel Auto Supply; and $62 to Kuglers, according to court documents.
