BEAVER CITY, Nebraska --Bonnie Jean Perkins, 58, died Saturday (March 15, 2014) at her home near Beaver City.
She was born in Holdrege, Nebraska on Sept. 13, 1955, to Howard and Adella Lienemann. She graduated from Wilcox High School in 1973. She earned three baccalaureate degrees in religious studies, Christian education, and sociology from Anderson University in Indiana and was voted the 'most valuable player' of Anderson's volleyball team. She married Lynn Perkins on Nov. 26, 1977.
She was a pastor at the Friendship Center Church in Beaver City for 32 years and served as a chaplain at Valley Hope of Norton, Kansas, for 20 years.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Adella Lienemann; father, Howard Lienemann; brother, Vaughn Dale Lienemann and sister, Wanda Lienemann.
She is survived by her husband, Lynn Perkins of Beaver City; children, Joshua and wife, Missy Perkins of Alliance, Ohio, Jenee Perkins, Janae Perkins, Johanna Perkins and Jeremiah Perkins, all of Beaver City; brothers, Dewey Lienemann and wife, Connie of Blue Hill, Nebraska, David Lienemann and wife, Peg of Hildreth, Nebraska, Dan Lienemann and wife, Janet of North Platte, Nebraska and Wayne Lienemann and wife, Linda of Axtell, Nebraska; sisters, Maxine Egley and husband, Tom of Mission Viejo, California, Cheryl Loschen and husband, Bill of Hildreth, Nebraska, Mary Thomas and husband, Mike of Lincoln, Nebraska, Linda Post and husband, Jason of Bridgeport, Nebraska and three grandchildren.
There will be no viewing or visitation. Funeral services are Saturday, March 22, 2014, at 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Beaver City with the Rev. Ken Breinig officiating. Interment will be at the Mount Hope Cemetery in Beaver City.
