County board to open bids
McCOOK, Nebraska -- Red Willow County, Nebraska, commissioners will awards bids on kitchen and storage equipment for the new county jail during their weekly meeting starting at 9 a.m., Monday, on the third floor of the courthouse in McCook.
The bids are on the agenda at 9:45 a.m. and 10 a.m.
Other agenda items are:
9:30 a.m. -- Treasurer Marleen Garcia will ask that commissioners let her use their room for her tax sale on Monday, March 3, and move their weekly meeting to Tuesday, March 4.
10:15 a.m. -- County surveyor Gary Dicenta, report on Bridge No. 71630 east of Bartley.
10:30 a.m. -- Sheriff Gene Mahon, report on correctional food services offered by Consolidated Management Company of Des Moines, Iowa, and CBM Managed Services of Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Correspondence includes a letter from Dicenta, who is also the county's flood plain administrator, to Nationstar Mortgage stating that the residence of Con Fielding southwest of McCook is not located in a special flood hazard area.
Commissioners will also declare as surplus property a portable loading dock belonging to the household hazard waste department and a 2004 Ford Taurus belonging to the county assessor's office.
