Congressman Smith announces 2014 Congressional Art Competition
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Congressman Adrian Smith (R-Nebraska) is encouraging high school students in Nebraska's Third District to submit their artwork for the 2014 Congressional Art Competition by March 2, 2014.
"The Congressional Art Competition is a great opportunity for Third District students to share their talent," said Smith. "I hope we will be able to build upon the success of previous years and continue to showcase outstanding works of art in our congressional offices and in the U.S. Capitol."
The first place artwork will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. Smith will display the runners-up in his Washington, D.C. and Third District offices. The Congressional Arts Caucus annually sponsors the Congressional Arts Competition for high school students from all fifty states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories.
The Nebraska Art Teachers Association is working with Smith to coordinate the 2014 competition. Official rules, guidelines and submission forms are available online at the association's website (http://www.nebraskaarteducators.org/congressional-art-caucus---grades-9-12.html).
