McCook Concert Association plans annual membership drive
McCOOK, Nebraska -- Four world-class performances right here in McCook, and 10 others only a pleasant evening drive away are in the offing for this year's members of the McCook Concert Association.
The MCA's membership drive for the 2013-14 season begins Sunday and lasts until Monday, Sept. 30, with $45 for adults, $90 for a family. Student memberships remain at $10.
Admission to the concerts is by season ticket only. Memberships are available until the first concert. An added benefit for season ticket holders is admittance, through reciprocity agreements, to 10 more concerts, in Holyoke, Colo., Cozad, Nebraska, and North Platte, Nebraska.
Local concerts, all at the Fox Theater in McCook, include Goldwing Express, a Native American father and sons playing bluegrass, country and gospel, interspersed with with humor, at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 30; Aureole Trio, with a blend of flute, viola and harp, 7:30 p.m. Nov. 15 at the Fox Theater; Charlie Albright, a young, Juilliard-trained "Poet of the Piano," 7:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 24; and Mack Bailey, a singer and songwriter of folk music, on Friday, April 25.
Reciprocal concerts include the Unexpected Surfer Boys, Oct. 18 in Cozad; Abrams Brothers, Nov. 3 in Holyoke; Tribute to Nat King Cole, Nov. 8 in Cozad; the Sons of the Pioneers Feb. 28 in North Platte; Tribute to ABBA, March 14 in Holyoke, March 18 in North Platte and March 20 in Cozad; Everything Fitz in Cozad on April 8; Mack Bailey April 24 in Holyoke, and the John Davidson Show on May 19 in North Platte.
