When science tests faith presentation Sunday

McCOOK, Nebraska -- An abandoned, consecrated communion host that turns into human blood and living heart tissue.

A woman who receives the same wounds people believe Jesus received during his crucifixion.

A plaster bust of the crucified Christ weeps blood and tears.

These might sound like stories from years ago. We've all heard of miraculous phenomena happening throughout the centuries, but these phenomena are reported even in our own time. Even more, with the advantages of modern technology, these situations have been investigated by today's scientists with startling conclusions.

Brian Truckenbrod of Lighthouse Catholic Media will lead the free presentation "When Science Tests Faith," 6:30-9 p.m., Sunday at St. Patrick Catholic Church.

Truckenbrod's presentation is based on the book "Reason to Believe," which documents the experiences of two Australians -- attorney and author Ron Tesoriero and renowned investigative journalist Mike Willesee -- as they looked for explanations for these extraordinary occurrences.

"Modern-day instances of these types of miraculous activities are just a continuation of what has been happening for thousands of years," Truckenbrod said. "Seeing and hearing the scientific evidence about these events is absolutely staggering."

The Science Tests Faith presentation has brought about many conversions and the rededication of many Catholics to a renewed vigor in their faith. So bring you Catholic and non-Catholic friends and those who are unchurched to this life-changing experience.
