Misty (Warburton) Montano, a 1996 graduate of McCook High School, has received the "Rising Star Award," from the Gannett Board of Governors.

She was nominated by her peers for her work and dedication in digital and social media. She is the digital content manager for 9News in Denver, and is the daughter of Galen and Dorothea Warburton of McCook.
