The May minutes were read and approved, and a treasurer's report was given and bills allowed for Poppy Day Poster prizes to the sixth grade at Southwest Elementary School.

The Bartley unit and post will host a Girl and Boy State Program at the Bartley Legion Hall in Bartley on Monday, July 9, at 7:30 p.m.

The families of the delegates are invited as well as area unit and post members of Indianola, Lebanon, Bartley and Danbury.

The unit will have a drawing for the patriotic afghan raffle that night. Proceeds will be contributed to the Mike Helm campaign as National Legion Commander at the 92nd Department convention in Kearney, June 28-July 1.

Unit member Karen Hodson will serve as District 9 page, and will take office as District 9 President at the convention.

A donation of 21 crocheted scarves will be made to the various veteran homes.

The last news letter from outgoing District 9 President Karen Brown emphasized membership and Flag Day.

The secretary reminded members to save copies of letters written on behalf of veteran affairs and benefits to congressmen, and the replies.
