Commandery scholarships

St. John's Commandery No, 16 of McCook, Nebraska, awards $1,000 scholarships to five Southwest Nebraska high school spring graduates, including, from left: Larissa Wach, Hayes Center Public Schools, the daughter of Loran and Nancy Wach of rural Wauneta who will attend the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and major in agri-business; Rebekka White, Maywood Public Schools, the daughter of Arlyn and Melissa White of Curtis who plans to attend Mid-Plains Community College in North Platte and major in criminal justice; Kyle Gaston, McCook Senior High, the son of Rod and Pam Gaston of McCook who plans to attend Doane College and major in wildlife biology; Allie McConville, Southwest High School, the daughter of Rick and Crinda McConville of Indianola who plans to attend Doane College and major in pre-physician assistant studies; and Phillip Clay, McCook Senior High, the son of the Rev. Lance and Robin Clay of McCook who plans to attend Hastings College and major in music education and music theory/composition. Representing the Commandery are, from the left, Commander Greg Wolford, Right Eminent Commander of Nebraska Knights Templar Don Rife and Past Commanders Richard Cole, and Ron Stuhmer. The students and their families were hosted by St. John's Commandery to a reception in recognition of their achievements.
