How the loop falls

Ropers succeed -- or fail, depending on how the loop falls -- at the 2011 Southwest Nebraska High School Rodeo. This year's rodeo will be Friday, Saturday and Sunday, April 27, 28 and 29 in the Kiplinger Arena on the Red Willow County fairgrounds in the 1500 block of West Fifth in McCook, Nebraska. Organizers Kelly and Lisa Egle of McCook and Barb and Kenny Smith and Marissa Smith of Wauneta have scheduled cutting at 6 p.m., Friday; all timed events start at 9 a.m., Saturday and Sunday. Admission is free to the cutting and $5 per person Saturday and Sunday for everyone six years old and over.
