Special all-class reunion cancellation set for July 3

Thursday, June 17, 2010

McCOOK, Nebraska -- The cafeteria at the McCook, Nebraska, Junior High will turn into a temporary post office on Saturday, July 3, to handle a special pictorial cancellation commemorating the McCook All-Class Reunion planned the Fourth of July weekend.

The "Bison 2010 Station" cancellation will be performed between 9 a.m. and noon.

People may obtain the cancellation in person or by mail order request postmarked no later than 30 days following the cancellation date.

All requests must include a stamped envelope or postcard bearing at least the minimum first-class mail postage (44 cents per envelope or 28 cents per postcard). Items submitted for cancellation with stamps issued after the date of the event will be returned without service.

Customers should affix stamps to the envelope/postcard, address it to themselves or others, insert a card of postcard thickness in envelopes for sturdiness, and tuck in the flap.

Place the envelope/postcard in a larger envelope and address it -- USING ALL CAPITAL LETTERS AND NO PUNCTATION -- to:

PICTORIAL CANCELLATION

BISON 2010 STATION

P.O. BOX 9998

MCCOOK NE 69001-9998

After applying the pictorial cancellation, the Postal Service will return the envelope/postcard through the mail. Customers who want their serviced items returned under protected cover should include a larger, stamped, self-addressed envelope.
