West squad spikes the East at Sertoma VB Classic

Led by Hershey High School grad Marla Munsen, the West squad defeated the East 4 games to 1 at the 18th Annual Sertoma Volleyball Classic, held at the the McCook High School gym Saturday night. Munsen, who was named her team's MVP, scored 7 kills and 2 blocks, while also having 12 digs on the night. Teammate Blair Dixon of Wauneta-Palisade also contributed 7 kills, while Dundy County-Stratton's Hilary Wilson had 5 of her own, along with a service ace.

The East squad's MVP, Bailey Soucie of Cambridge, led her team in assists with 23. Fellow East player Joanna Bryant of McCook had 12 kills, Southwest's Abby Houghtelling scored 8 kills of her own, and Cassie Brooks of Southern Valley contributed 11 assists to her team's effort.
