Caroline I. Pettera

HERNDON -- Caroline I. Pettera, 96, died Tuesday (Feb. 10, 2009) at Rawlins County Health Center in Atwood.

She was born Oct. 29, 1912, in Ludell Township, Kan., to Joseph T. and Amelia (Vap) Pettera.

She was a self-employed domestic worker during her working years.

Survivors include her sister, Veronica Olson of Denver, Colo., nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian burial was Saturday at St. Mary's Assumption Catholic Church in Herndon with the Rev. Daniel Scheetz officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.

Memorials may be given in her name to St. Mary's Building Fund and may be left at Williams Funeral Home of Atwood.

Williams Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
