Bison 8th girls split games with Ogallala
OGALLALA -- The McCook Junior High School eighth grade girls basketball teams went 1-1 at Ogallala Tuesday.
Ogallala defeated the Bison in the A game 24-12, while the Bison B team edge by Ogallala 23-22.
"The girls played aggressively but poor shooting from the field and an even worse performance from the free throw line where we were 4 of 21 proved our downfall," said Bison coaches Steve Clapp and Tom Lentz.
"Free throws and shooting are obviously areas of concern and we will try and improve in this area. The B team did a nice job working together and playing hard in picking up their win on an end of the game shot.
Brooklynn Trew and Megan Ruppert both had 3 points for the Bison in the A game and Rachel Goltl, Kassidy Gillen and Riley Allen all had 2 points.
Kyla Krepcik led the Bison in scoring in the B game. Krepcik totaled 7 points and Brittany Broomfield added 6.
Tricia Mitnik and Hollie Eiler teamed up with 4 points each and Nicole Helm had 2.
McCook plays at Cozad next Tuesday.
