McCook girls golf team third at North Platte

NORTH PLATTE -- The McCook High School girls golf team placed third out of eight teams at the North Platte Invitational Friday.

Sidney won the tournament with a 387 score, followed by Gering 416, McCook 438, Ogallala 465, Gothenburg 476, North Platte 481, Lexington 482 and Cozad 527.

Two McCook golfers placed in the 10 and earned medals.

Shelby Allen placed ninth with a 105 score and Alex Trew was 10th with a 107 score. Sydney Jumps shot 112, Megan Rokusek 114 and Becky Goodenberger 146.

Sidney's McKenzie O'Connell won the individual title with an 84.

Lexington's Kelsey Ondrak was second with a 90, followed by Gering's Sabrina King 95, Sidney's Mackenzie Dombier 97, Sidney's Kelly Leininger 99 and Gering's Kendall Thompson and Mariah Busch 102 and 105.

McCook hosts North Platte in a dual meet at 4 p.m. Thursday at Heritage Hills Golf Course.
