PAXTON -- The executive committee of the Republican Plains Activity Conference is proud to announce the addition of Paxton Consolidated Schools in Paxton as the 14th member of the organization.

Paxton applied for membership and was approved at the January meeting of the RPAC Executive Committee.

In doing so, Paxton will join the RPAC as a full member for the 2008-2009 school year in all activities. Paxton was previously a member of the Central Platte Conference that is disbanding at the conclusion of the 2007-2008 school year.

Paxton is a D2 school located in eastern Keith County that offers a full complement of activities to the student body including the following RPAC sponsored activities: art, volleyball, instrumental and vocal music, girls and boys basketball, speech, girls and boys track, play production, girls and boys cross country and student council.

In joining the RPAC, Paxton will bring a strong tradition of student-athlete success evidenced as recently as the fall of 2007 when the Tiger girls won the Nebraska Class D2 state volleyball championship.

The inclusion of Paxton as the 14th member of the RPAC continues the quest of the organization to provide camaraderie and competitive opportunities for every student-athlete in each member school with a balance of activities and athletics.

The Republican Plains Activity Conference looks to honor past traditions while providing new opportunities and challenges, both in the present year as well as in the future, for the student-athletes of the membership.
