CHAMPION -- Darlean R. Moreland, 87, died Dec. 31, 2007, in Lincoln.
She was born Feb. 21, 1920, to Luther and Emily Barns.
She was married to George Moreland.
She was a member of the Chase County Historical Society, the Joys and Blisters Garden Club and the Champion Women's Club.
She spent many years as a 4-H leader, was past director of District No. 8 Make It Yourself with Wool and was the first president of the Nebraska Wheat Hearts.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George in 1974; a daughter, Arlis Quick; and a sister, Doris Harris.
Survivors include three daughters, Janice Tetherow and husband, Richard of Valentine, Diana Schumacher and husband, Terry of Wilson, Wis., and Nancy Messersmith and husband, Tom of Laramie, Wyo.; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services were Saturday at First United Methodist Church of Imperial with the Rev. Kay Alnor officiating. Interment followed at Mount Hope Cemetery in Imperial.
Memorials may be directed to the Chase County Historical Museum in Champion.
