Patrick L. Taylor

CERRITOS, Calif. -- Patrick L. Taylor, age 59, was born in McCook, on Dec. 14,1947, to Robert L. and Evelyn M. (Axelson) Taylor.
He attended North and East Ward Elementary schools and graduated from McCook High School, class of 1966. There he was active in band and orchestra and lettered in football, basketball and track. His Nebraska state discus throwing record stood for many years.
Patrick graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in Music Education. There he also met and married his wife, Peggy Ashland Taylor on Jan. 4, 1971. After teaching music for two years in Lansing, Kan., he accepted a position in San Marino, Calif., as the high school band director.
In 1976, he made a career change and went to work for Radio Shack Corporation, first as a store manager and then as a district manager. He retired after 25 years with Radio Shack and was currently working as a realtor in the Los Angeles and Orange Counties area of California.
He died of a sudden heart attack on Friday, Nov. 16, 2007.
Patrick is survived by his mother, Evelyn Taylor Tackels of Hemet, Calif.; his wife, Peggy of Cerritos; his son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Stephanie Taylor of Aliso Viejo, Calif., and his son, Joshua, also of Cerritos.
Memorials are being made to the American Heart Association.
A memorial service was today at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Cypress, Calif.
