Ila Marie Potter

CAMBRIDGE -- Ila Marie Potter, 82, died Friday (July 20, 2007) at Cambridge Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Furnas County, near Wilsonville on March 31, 1925, to Earl E. and Lizzie Belle (Bates) Palmer. She graduated from Wilsonville High School in 1942.
On Feb. 14, 1944, she married Leroy Potter. He preceded her in death on Sept. 25, 1980. During their marriage the couple lived in Ogallala and in Arkansas, before moving to a farm south of Wilsonville. The couple farmed from 1946 until 1973. In 1973, they moved to Cambridge. She was a school bus driver for 13 years and worked 20 years at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital as a nurse's aide.
She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Cambridge and the progressive extension club. She was a former member of the Wilsonville Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Leroy, sister: Betty Jean; and brother, Jackie Lee and a brother-in-law, Gale Kasson.
Survivors include four sons, Gary and wife, Carolyn of Elwood, Larry and wife, Kyle of Cambridge, Jerry L. of Jefferson, Colo, and Earl and wife Darla of Garland; one brother, Darrell and wife, June Palmer of Wilsonville; three sisters, Rosalie and husband, Bennie Desmond of McCook, Joan and husband, Jerry Bennet of Cozad, and Gal and husband, Harold Fleider of Cambridge; five grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and 10 step-greatgrandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, 10:30 a.m., at the Calvary Baptist Church in Cambridge, with the Revs. Tim Burke and Clark Bates officiating. Interment will be in the Wilsonville Cemetery in Wilsonville.
Memorials may be left in her name to the Calvary Baptist Church.
