Superintendent candidate agrees to take job

Thursday, June 7, 2007

Centura Public Schools' superintendent, David Schley, has verbally agreed to accept the position of interim superintendent for McCook Public Schools.

McCook board president Greg Larson said this morning that Schley will begin his new job Aug. 1, when his contract with Centura ends.

Larson said information on Schley's salary and benefit package will be released when contract paperwork is finalized, before or at the board's regular July meeting.

Junior high principal Dennis Berry will continue in his capacity as short-term interim superintendent until Schley starts in August, Larson said.
