James Floyd Ziems

ARAPAHOE?-- James Floyd Ziems, 79, died Tuesday (May 1, 2007) at his home in Arapahoe.
He was born on Sept. 18, 1928, at Elwood to Henry and Mary (Graf) Ziems.
He was raised on a farm near Elwood. In 1952, he entered the U.S. Army and served until 1954. After his military service, he moved to Arapahoe. He worked as an auto mechanic and bridge construction worker for several years. He also worked at the Arapahoe Co-op Elevator.
He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 4343 of Edison.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, two in infancy, Harry, Albert and Joe Ziems; and three sisters, Velma, Alvina and Sophia.
He is survived by a brother, Dean Ziems of Loveland, Colo., and sisters, Minna Noltenmeier of Arapahoe and Emma Foster of Grand Island.
Graveside services will be Saturday, 10:30 a.m., at the Arapahoe Cemetery with the Rev. David Otten officiating, with military rites provided by the American Legion Post No. 9343 of Edison.
There will be no viewing or visitation.
