McCook's eighth grade boys also played at Gothenburg Thursday night.

McCook won the A game 58-29 and the B game 32-7. The Bison fell to Gothenburg in the C game 22-6.

Conner Larson led the Bison boys in the A game with 21 points.

Keith Wallace added in 11 points and Grant Wilcox had 6.

"We played our best game of the season," said Bison coach Bill Ramsay. "Players executed the offense and made the open shot.

Defensively we did a good job of locating their shooters and rebounding pretty well which created some fast baskets.

"From the free throw line we were 15-of-18, which is outstanding. Ten players scored in the game."

Ben Vetrovsky scored 7 points for the Bison in the B game.

Nathan Weintz and Nathan Priebe both had 6 points and Brad Baumbach and Brendan Yost each had 5.

"We played good man defense and the defenders go out into the passing lanes which caused some turnovers, we converted into easy baskets," Ramsay said.

"We rebounded very well and ran our offense pretty well."

Joe Kenny and Bryan Cox led the C game in scoring. Kenny had 4 points and Cox had 2.

"The players played hard but just could not get the ball in the basket," Ramsay said.
