"And you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free." John 8:32

Words of promise and hope. The promise, however, as well as the hope, are sometimes elusive, even for those who believe.

Dr. Neil T. Anderson, noted Christian author, is bringing "Living Free in Christ" to McCook Wednesday through Satur-day, Jan. 31 through Feb. 3. Based on Anderson's books "Victory Over the Darkness"

and "The Bondage Breaker" the conference will equip believers to more fully experience freedom in Christ.

Participants will discover their identity and position in Christ, how to walk in faith, how to renew their minds, find emotional freedom from the past by forgiving from their hearts, resolve personal and spiritual conflicts and experience an ongoing and growing freedom in Christ.

Anderson also will offer "Discipleship Counseling" for pastors, counselors and lay people with a desire to help others Thursday and Friday, Feb. 1 and 2. Based on the book by the same name, the course will equip participants to know Christ as the Wonderful Counselor spoken of in Scripture and how Christ can use them to set captives free and bind up the broken hearted.

Dr. Anderson was raised on a farm in Minnesota. He served in the U.S. Navy for four years and worked as an aerospace engineer before being called into full time ministry. He has seved as a high school campus pastor, in local churches as a youth pastor, college pastor, associate pastor and senior pastor. He taught at Talbot School of Theology for 10 years and was the chairman of the Practical Theology Depart-ment.

He is the founder and now president emeritus of Freedom in Christ Ministries which has offices in Canada, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, India, Australia, New Zealand and Africa.

He conducts conferences for Christian leaders around the world in addition to maintaining a heavy writing schedule.
