Area schools involved in holiday hoops tournaments

Area teams finish up 2006 by playing in holiday tournaments.

McCook's girls and boys basketball teams travel to the Greater Nebraska Conference at Hastings Thursday night.

The Bison boys begin play at 3:45 against North Platte. The girls begin at 2 p.m. against Columbus.

Games continue on Friday starting at 2 p.m. and Saturday at noon.

Arapahoe's boys and girls will host Red Cloud, Pleasanton and Sumner-Eddyville-Milner on Thursday.

The Warriors begin the tournament with Sumner-EM at 5:15 p.m., for the girls and the boys following at 7 p.m. Consolation and championship rounds finish on Friday.

Chase County's boys and girls travel to Minden on Thursday and Friday to compete in the Minden Tournament.

The Longhorns start the day off against Minden with girl's game beginning at 1 p.m. and the boys following at 2:45. Consolation and championship rounds continue on Friday.

Southwest, Wauneta-Palisade, Perkins County and Paxton take the floor in Grant on Friday.

The Broncos and Roughriders square off in the both the girls and boys divisions. The girls begin play at 3 p.m. (MT) and the boys start at 4:30 p.m. (MT).

Perkins County and Paxton's boys and girls follow.

The boys game begins at 6 p.m. (MT) and the girls follow at 7:30 p.m. (MT). Saturday games include the consolation and championship rounds.
