Loren J. Bedore

Loren J. Bedore died Thursday September 28, 2006 at the McCook Community Hospital in McCook at the age of 74.

He was born Oct. 19. 1931, at Zurich, Kan., the son of the late Lawrence and Beatrice (Forgue) Bedore. He grew up at Zurich until 1941 when the family moved to Culbertson. He graduated from Culbertson High School in 1949.

On Nov. 3, 1950, Loren married Elaine Meyer at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in McCook. They spent their married life in Culbertson where he was manager of the Coop Station and became General Manager for the stations at Culbertson, Trenton and Stratton until retiring in 1997.

He was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Trenton, the McCook Elks Lodge 1434 and served on the Culbertson Low Rent Housing Board and the Culbertson Village Board.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Melvin Bedore on April 4, 1996, and by his parents, Lawrence and Beatrice Bedore.

He is survived by his wife, Elaine Bedore of Culbertson; one daughter, Vernetta Gohl of Omaha; two sons, Joel Bedore and wife, Sharon and Lowell Bedore and special friend, Marlene Gigax all of McCook; eight grandchildren, Stephanie Linke and husband, Ryan, Kelly Ockinga and husband, Jeff, Courtney Holub and husband, Jared, Melanie Bradley and husband, Ryan, Kyle Bedore, Ryan Bedore, Kody Bedore and Heath Bedore; two great grandchildren, Ava Linke and Addison Holub; one sister, Roselene Weber and husband, Ernst of McCook; one sister-in-law, Virginia Bedore of McCook; and relatives and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in McCook, with the Rev. Gary Brethour officiating, Rosary will be 7:30 p.m. on Sunday at Herrmann Memorial Chapel. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorials may be given in his name and friends may call at Herrmann Funeral Home from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 1- 9 p.m.
