LeRoy Sullivan

HOLDREGE -- LeRoy Sullivan, 77, died Thursday (Sept. 7, 2006), at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Kearney.
He was born June 14, 1929, in Haxtun, Colo., to Clyde P. and Beatrice A. (Atkinson) Sullivan. He received his early education in Haxtun and attended high school in Loomis and Holdrege.
He served in the National Guard.
On Jan. 18, 1951, he married Katharine L. Carlson in Holdrege. He was a salesman and worked for Moorman Feed. He and his wife owned and operated Independent Merchants. They made their home in Holdrege until 1974 when they moved to rural Bertrand. In 1977 they moved to Decatur County, Kan., and in 2000 moved to Kearney. After Katharine's death in 2005, he returned to Holdrege.
He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Holdrege.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Katharine on March 11, 2005; and an infant sister, Lorraine.
Survivors include seven children, Jim and Loretta Sullivan of Oberlin, Kaylon and Steve Hubbard of Elm Creek, John and Karla Sullivan of Colby, Kan., Kerri and Randy Myers of Bertrand, Karen and Bill Koppinger of Unadilla, Anne Sullivan of Central City and Carol and Kevin Brown of Oberlin; five brothers, Lowell and Irma Sullivan of Hastings, Orville and Carolyn Sullivan of Loomis, Clyde and Beverly Sullivan of Mesquite, Nev., Dale and Sheryl Sullivan of Fargo, N.D., and Dean and Margie Sullivan of Cedaridge, Colo.; 21 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Monday, 10:30 a.m., at Trinity Evangelical Free Church, 613 18th Ave., Holdrege, with the Rev. Murray Jones officiating. Interment will be at Prairie Home Cemetery in Holdrege.
Visitation begins at 9 a.m., Monday and continues until the time of the service at the church.
