Council vacancy on ballot

The McCook City Council plans a special meeting Monday to deal with changing personnel.
The council is expected to accept the resignation of Bill Longnecker, who resigned for personal and business reasons.
Then, the council will consider a resolution to put the vacancy on the general election ballot, Nov. 7.
The council also will receive and consider a report from the city attorney regarding the city manager contract negotiations with candidate Kurt P. Fritsch.
The meeting is set for 7 p.m. Monday in the City Council chambers at Memorial Auditorium, West Fifth and C Streets.
