Jimmie L. Lawson
JOSHUA TREE, Calif. -- Jimmie L. Lawson, 85, passed away at his home at Joshua Tree, Calif., on Dec. 22, 2005.
Jim was the youngest child of John and "Jennie" Melissa Jane (Mulford) Lawson. He was born Sept. 27, 1920. He grew up in the Cambridge-Bartley area and later lived in Hayes County before moving to California in the early 1940s. He married Dara Fowler on July s, 1943, at Los Angeles, Calif.
He is survived by his wife, Dara; three sons, Ernie, Marty and wife Sharon, and Floyd; four grandsons, Craig, Christopher, Jeffery and Anthony Lawson; two granddaughters, Patty Mangold and Brandy Alexanian; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Etta Nelms, Wauneta and Carrie Max, Curtis; one sister-in-law, May Lawson, Cambridge; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father; five brothers, Clifford (wife Nettie), Elvert "Bunk." Howard; Lloyd (wife Leona) and Frank; and one sister, Clesta Lawson.
Jim was a machinist and owned his own shop. He taught many young men and women the trade, including his three sons. He helped many people. His favorite charity was "Boys Town of Nebraska." He always said, "They do some good."
