CENTENNIAL, Colo. -- Meredith Joy Huff, 85, died Friday (Feb. 17, 2006), at Porter Hospice in Centennial, Colo.

He was born April 5, 1920, at Decatur County to Jesse M. and Eunice N. (Barnett) Huff. He was raised in Decatur County and graduated from Jennings High School in 1938.

He served in the U.S. Air Corps during World War II.

On July, 7, 1943, he married Hilaria Hickert at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

He worked for the U.S. Postal Service and lived in Decatur County, Goodland, Kan., Casper, Wyo., and Denver, Colo.

He was a members of Knights of Columbus and the American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Barnett Jack Huff; and a sister, Maxine Glee Cargil.

Survivors include his wife, Hilaria Huff of Denver; daughter, Arlene M. Hohn and husband Roy, of Centennial; one sister, Carol Jean Spears and husband, Sandy of Norton, Kan.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be Wednesday, 10:30 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church in New Almelo, with the Rev. Vincent Thu Laing and Deacon Stan Chapin officiating. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in New Almelo.

Visitation is today until 8 p.m., at the St. Joseph Parish Hall in New Almelo with a vigil service scheduled at 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Liver Foundation or to the charity of the donor's choice.
