Bison boys play Lexington in district opener

KEARNEY -- The McCook High School boys basketball team (10-13) is the No. 4 seed at the Nebraska Class B-5 district tournament.
The Bison will play No. 5 seed Lexington (5-14) at 7 p.m. Saturday in a first-round game at the University of Nebraska-Kearney Health and Sports Center.
The McCook-Lexington winner plays No. 1 seed Holdrege (13-5) at 6 p.m. Monday in the semifinals.
The other semifinal features No. 3 seed Hastings (9-10) vs. No. 2 seed Grand Island Northwest (8-12) at 8 p.m.
The semifinal winners play for the district championship at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
The district winner advances to the Class B state tournament March 9-11 at Lincoln.
