Irene Florence Lohnes Moran

RICHARDSON, Texas -- Irene Florence Lohnes Moran, 95, died Tuesday (Nov. 22, 2005) at Richardson Regional Medical Center in Richardson, Texas.
She was born Aug. 1, 1910, in Pekin, Ill., to William A. and Minnie Hunter Lohnes. She graduate from Illinois Wesleyan University School of Music in Bloomington, Ill., in 1934.
She married Ralph J. Moran at the First Christian Church in Pekin on July 3, 1937.
She taught music at Mary Hardin-Baylor College for Women in Belton, Texas, and Shawneetown, Ill. She was also a cellist in the Vera Pearl Kemp Ensemble.
She was a member of Sigma Alpha Iota Music Sorority, Phi Kappa Phi Honorary Society, Central Christian Church, Granger Community Christian Church and AAUW (Salt Lake Chapter). She was also a member of First Christian Church, Disciples Women and the 21st Century Class.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
Survivors include daughter, Rosemary M. and husband, Gerald J. Corey of Culbertson; sons, Geoffrey H. and wife, Ruth Ann Moran of Salinas, Calif., and Brian L. and wife, Jan Moran of Dallas, Texas; seven grandchildren; eight great-grand children; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services were Nov. 29 at the Granger Community Christian Church in West Valley City, Utah.
Memorials are being accepted in her name at the Culbertson Fire Department, the Culbertson Ambulance Squad or the Culbertson C.I.P. Fund.
