School name to be revisited
McCook Public Schools board of education members will once again discuss a name for McCook's new single-site elementary facility, during a regular meeting scheduled Monday at 6 p.m., in the junior high conference room.
During last month's meeting, board member Mike Gonzales suggested naming the new school something more inspiring than "Mc-Cook Elementary," and encouraged anyone with ideas to contact board members.
Educators will receive an update on the finishing touches at the new facility, into which all the district's kindergartners, first, second and third graders moved in October.
Early in the meeting, board members will accept an anonymous donation of $762 for pole vault safety equipment and $1,000 from Wal-Mart for the new Weiland Field concession stand-locker room facility.
Board members will be updated on REWARD grants and curriculum, and hear reports from administrators and board committee members.
