ELWOOD -- David Gene Mak, 48, died Wednesday (Oct. 12, 2005) at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.

He was born July 28, 1957, in Lexington to Larry G. and Peggy J. (McGraw) Mak. He graduated from Elwood Public School in 1976.

He married Mindy Sue Purple on April 6, 1979, in Beaver City.

He was employed by the Gosper County Roads Department since 1979. He was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church of Elwood, the Elwood Fire and Rescue Squad and the Pirate Booster Club.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Daniel and Dennis Mak.

Survivors include his wife, Mindy Mak of Elwood; son, Barry Mak of Kansas City, Kan.; daughter, Tessa Mak of Hastings; parents, Larry and Peggy Mak of Elwood; brother, Donald Mak of Kearney; and sister, Dixie and husband, Jon Obermiller of Kearney.

Services will be Monday, 10:30 a.m., at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Elwood with the Rev. Jeff Ernstmeyer officiating. Inurnment will be at Elwood Cemetery.
