Bison 8th graders

lose heartbreaker

to Ogallala

The McCook Junior High School eighth grade football team lost a heartbreaker to the Ogallala Indians last Tuesday 28-27 at Weiland Feild.

The Bison got off to a fast start with 43-yard touchdown run by Chad Stull.

A trick play got Ogallala on the board making the score 6-6 at the end of the first quarter.

In the second, McCook's Deon Allen scored from 49 yards out and Jimmy Barron caught a 33-yard touchdown pass from Ethan Hardin putting the Bison up 21-6 at halftime.

A high punt snap by the Bison led to another Ogallala touchdown. A few plays later, Ogallala struck again with an interception return for a touchdown.

The Bison responded with a drive of their own. Deon Allen scored on a 46-yard touchdown run.

On the kickoff, Ogallala returned it all the way for the score. The 2-point conversion was good to give Ogallala the lead and the win.
