Charles E. Churchhill Jr.

(Jan. 17, 1913 - June 15, 2005)

FAIRBURY -- Charles E. Churchhill, 92, died Wednesday (June 15, 2005), at the Jefferson Community Health Center in Fairbury.

He was born Jan. 17, 1913 to Charles Elmer Churchhill, Sr. and Donnie Belle (Bulson) Churchhill in Albert, Kan. He graduated high school.

He enlisted in the Navy and attended World War II from Feb. 2, 1944 to Feb. 16, 1946.

He married Doraline (Ridnour) Churchhill.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Doraline of Fairbury; one son, Randolph C. Churchhill of Actworth, Ga.; three daughters, Valerie J., and husband, Jim Kuehn of Lincoln, Janis E., and husband, Thomas Mitchell of Crete, and Deborah E, and husband, Greg Eitzmann of Republic, Kan.; one sister, Marjorie, and husband, Ralph Woodruff of Lanham, Md.; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Fairbury with the Rev. Dean Vaughn officiating. Interment will be at Fairbury Cemetery.

Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
